Pair of Large 1970s Italian Bamboo & Rattan Asymmetrical Arch Mirrors
A striking pair of large 1970s Italian mirrors, each formed with an asymmetrical architectural arch combining a tall straight inner edge with a sweeping curved outer frame.
Constructed from parallel lengths of warm golden bamboo, the frames are secured with neatly wrapped rattan bindings at the upper and lower junctions.
The original mirror plates have developed extensive atmospheric foxing and desilvering, producing clouded, time-worn surfaces with considerable decorative character. One mirror is slightly longer than the other.
Dimensions
Each mirror:
Height: 130 cm
Width: 90 cm
Condition
Good structural vintage condition with substantial age-related character. Both original mirror plates display extensive foxing, clouding and losses to the reflective silvering, particularly across the lower and central areas. Reflections are softened and interrupted rather than clear throughout.
